The Disappearer, 2009

The Disappearer was an excessively laborious, haphazard sculpture construction, installed at the hypothetical line between a tsunami danger zone and a safety zone near Dockweiler Beach. This “fort” found itself literally falling apart, in a constant state of entropy, its imagery borne of local infrastructure dissolving into the ethereal abandon of the sea.

A second iteration of this work involved an experimental performance of alien character who would inhabit this fort. It was enacted throughout the awkward, pedestrian-unfriendly landscaped areas of LAX airport; the documentation was compiled in an equally haphazard imovie music video.

In 2020, the Nostalgia Junkie project was installed in the same location, in reference to the earlier project and as an homage to place.
