various installation projects
Alma d'Arte High School, Las Cruces, NM
Here is a sampling of student projects made during an installation art class at a small charter arts high school in southern New Mexico. Youth explored and occupied every corner of the old Court Youth Center, building individual and small-group projects which ranged from an unused shower sprayed with Liquid Smoke barbeque sauce, to an exploding locker, to a soap-filled shallow pool dug in front of the studio with the invitation to walk on sponges and wood chips. Students also worked in public space and worked with City employees to produce Downtown Ghost Town and Inorganic Garden.
